Yes I’m sending all my messages through SMTP2GO or Mailgun and never had any problems with emails going to the spam. Of course using a relay can be an issue when it comes to privacy, but I noticed that in my case I mainly receive emails with private information and only rarely send anything that could be used for tracking.
Which websites are you referring to? I never noticed any problems from the sites I use. Only when I encounter any kind of captcha I always have to manually select images and it will never solve itself like some did in the past. But not sure if thats due to me not being logged in with Google in my main browser or if it’s caused by Honeygain.
But it looks like that only affects users of the Chrome Browser right?
99.95% spam
lol may I ask what you have to do to get that amount of spam? I at most get one spam mail per month to my server and I have some addresses listed as contact information on my public websites.
Is the prevailing advice still not to bother with self-hosting email?
I am hosting my own mail server for almost a year now and never had any issues with it. So I would recommend hosting one if you’re really into admin and server stuff since many things are quite complex to setup and maintain securely. For outgoing emails I would recommend using smtp2go or Mailgun to make sure that your emails always get delivered and don’t go to spam. Sending emails without a relay can be quite difficult and unreliable with some providers.
Why would anyone block porn for their own devices
A linktree like page that links to all my social media.
There are enough people that don’t have the technical knowledge to host their own instance which happily pay Bitwarden to do so. If I host my own software and pay for the servers myself I’m not gonna pay a monthly fee just to be able to use the software. Maybe a one time payment, but definitely no subscription.
Both, you can use an external 2FA app to secure your vault, but it has also an integrated authenticator that you then can use for other websites. I use Aegis for Vaultwarden and all other websites I save in Valutwarden itself.
Don’t you have to pay to use premium features on your own server with their official software? With Vaultwarden you get all premium features unlocked for free on an infinite amount of devices.
Valutwarden <3
No cause a few seconds after the internet goes out I’m getting spammed with emails from Uptime Kuma that my public websites went down. But I would only experience minor complications with my smart home and entertainment setup and could probably watch movies for around 2 or 3 weeks.
I use https://github.com/harsh98trivedi/Links and it looks like this: https://im1random.org/
It really depends on the type of IP you have and your location, but it’s really not much for me. From Honeygain I get like 20 bucks every 6 months and when paying out the money around 4$ get lost by transaction fees, but better than nothing and those services use so few resources, you don’t even notice them running in the background.
No definitely not because you can think of the VPN just as a tool that you use to connect to your VPN provider, but the real anonymity you get by your provider hiding your identity and forwarding your request anonymously. A self-hosted VPN is rather used for connecting to your house from outside to for example access a private server, if you use it for torrenting at home it will be exactly the same as if you wouldn’t use a VPN at all.
Or just create a new account with a throw away email and there you go.
