  • I get what you’re saying. It’s a both are true type of thing in my opinion. Our impact pales in comparison to the ultra wealthy. What gets left out of the conversation is that the AI data centres, factories, and transport trucks exist because there is demand. Each and every one of us is part of that demand and by significantly changing our lifestyles we can change our demands.

Your argument is valid though, the wealthy need to be the first to reduce their demand and by the most. Also that they’re not going to do that without the threat of state violence, just like we’re obligated to be lawful on the threat of state violence. It’s just that we’re not absolve of our contribution to climate change because the ultra wealthy have contributed more.

And yet nurses, first responders, therapist, social workers, and teachers are all expected to take the satisfaction of helping people as compensation in lue of payment.

  • They are your representatives. You may not like how your representatives are representing you on the international stage but they’re still your representatives. None of us care that someone is “one of the good Americans.” It’s your country’s leaders that are taking a shit on everyone else and Americans are the only people who can do anything about it. From the outside it seem like although very few Americans like what’s going on, even fewer are willing to do anything about it and expect the rest of the world to do it for them.

Well guess what, Americans did this to America. We’re not coming to save you, we can’t. We’ll be annihilated by the United States if we even suggest we’ll try. You’re on your own, figure it out.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve heard that scream too. A coworker got his foot chopped off and leg crushed by a hydraulic shearing machine. I can’t describe the scream. It’s a visceral and unintelligible scream and yet I knew exactly what they were trying to communicate. Fortunately he lived.

  • From Brooklyn 99

Jake: “So, what, now I’m just supposed to do anything that Rosa does? I mean, what if she jumped off a cliff?”

Captain Holt: “If Rosa were to jump off a cliff, she would’ve done her due diligence regarding the height of the cliff, the depth of the water, and the angle of entry, so yes. If you see Rosa jump off a cliff, by all means, jump off a cliff.”

A box fan with a filter slapped on each side would probably work nearly as well for half as long. This is assuming that the filter doesn’t starve the fan of air. Filters are more or less all about surface area. Two filters instead of four means half the surface area doing the same amount of work.

Tldr; the cube is better, but even a single filter on a fan is better than nothing.

Older cars also looked nicer. Yes our cars are better, and I will probably never own a classic car. The Chevrolet Bel Air looks way better than any car built in the last 10 years, and it’s a metal death trap.

It could be because most independent Manga artist want the exposure and won’t enforce their copyright as rigoursly. Whereas a publishing company already has the exposure and wants to control their IP and will enforce their copyright. Especially because to hold a copyright the owner needs to defend it.
