Engines were probably idling down because they had anticipated this. The guy tried to jump up on one engine. Likely thought he could jump on the front lip of the other engine, not realizing the sucka sucka those things have even low speed.

They probably had the engines shutting down at the time. Last time, I saw a story of a guy getting sucked in. Was a loading worker. The engines were full idle and only a trickle of blood was the only remains recovered.

Cinderblocks? At those temps? That’s very dangerous. Cinderblocks can explode at those temperatures due to trapped moisture in the pores. Also, it can crumble apart and spill whatever is in the pot, granted if you guys are using cinderblocks for this… i doubt that the area is prepared accordingly. So when the hot liquid metal hits the ground, it will cause it to also explode from moisture, launching blobs of hot metal everywhere.

Lol I’d would love to see home attempts to even try to get it to that temperature. But I would also like to be far far away. Because at those temps if the sounding area isn’t sufficiently prepared for metal casting. Anything is a bomb. Even the dirt and concrete.

Cast is brittle. It drills super easy. I’ve had 2x4 from homedepot give me a harder time. Just lean on drill to give it that umph.

At the same time G10 is pretty shure is used as an electrical insulator inside electrical cabinets what not, so electrical supply places might carry them too

Try understanding. The road was already designed to be safe at 80kph. They lower it down to 50kph because of folks such as the ones who brake at the green light because the count down timer for the walk signal hit zero. Or the ones who don’t know where the fuck they are going, panick miss their turn and slam on the fucking brakes in the middle of a 3 lane road instead of pulling a u-turn 100m up the road. Then they try the bulshit of traffic calming shit by retiming the lights so every light in 10km stretch will be red when you get to it. Fucking phenomenal way to prevent irritation.

Road ways are designed with something like a safety factor where a 50kph road way Is safe up to 80kph. It’s just reduced for those stunned types of us.

Really, that hard to pull a plug when you’re done? This is a non-issue. The plug too far? Okay, get an extension cord.

I know this maybe sounds like an easily solvable problem - just turn the power off when it’s done - but that’s just not how things roll in our house.

Maybe try fixing your house where pulling a cord to keep toddlers safe takes priority over the inconvenience of pluging something back in.
