This must be far below my age range. I read the article and still have absolutely no idea why having bots (NPCs I’m guessing) that look like other characters is a big deal. Ho hum.

They’re just fun little nods to PlayStation’s history. Previous AstroBot games have been fun little 3D platformers, with little tidbits that pay tribute to the PlayStation and its various controllers and accessories and even major series.

This is just saying that there are going to be a ton of references, hinting at the scope and budget of the game.

I’m curious, why do PlayStation players get so upset over exclusives when things like this are so well received?

Playstation players are upset by the lack of exclusives. There are like 4 or 5 games that are only on the PS5 and one of them is Astro’s Playroom; a tech demo platformer that comes with the system to show off everything it and the new controller can do. There is nary a reason to move from PS4 to PS5 even if you’re a hardcore Playstation fan.

I’m almost 40 and I’d say there’s no age range to this game. The little bots are adorable and goofy little parodies of the characters they’re based on, usually found doing something ridiculous. It just oozes nostalgia and charm.

Little kids will enjoy it for sure, and there’s little challenge, but adults often find smiling unavoidable. At least this was my experience with Rescue Mission for PSVR.

It’s just a cute and silly good time.
