The last prayer in at the end, where they’re talking about what they want if they win, is the most chilling:

“Be afraid,” Tenney said. “For rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. And when Donald Trump becomes the 47th president of the United States, there will be retribution against all those who have promoted evil in this country.”

The scripture verse that’s cited most frequently in the prayers comes from 2 Chronicles.

Uhhh . . no. No it does not.

Different denominations prefer different translations. They’re using something fairly close to the King James text:

7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

His name is Jealous, for He is a jealous God.

And here’s a more recent scholarly translation which is used for secular studies. Which is really the same.

2 Chronicles 7:14 New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

No I mean “Two Chronicles” is not what it’s called and we’re not doing this whole “actually some people DO pronounce it noo-kyoo-lar”

        “2nd Chronicles” would be acceptable.
