I was all for making a good faith effort to bump him with guarantees this year and next year (eg 3 for 45 with 2 for 30 guaranteed, which I think is about reasonable for where he is) for his leadership, then he told us “holding out last year was trash” before disrupting practice yelling at Mayo and appearing to hold out for a couple days, and his value as a veteran leader took a decent dip to me. Holdouts are part of the business, and if he’d just held out fine, but spending all season talking about how you wouldn’t do that, then doing it in a really disruptive way isn’t cool.
