Whole thing is written from an Earth, not United Federation of Planets perspective.

“No humans should go there, signed one human and one half human”

I’m sure it was meant in more of a “dual-citizenship” way, I can only imagine how complicated the logistics of being part of two interstellar species would be.

Nah, this image was recovered from the logs:

The archives must have been tampered with. That couldn’t have been my sweet Pike.

I’m not sure what you mean. What capital i?

Edit: I just looked at it on a larger screen. It appears to be an issue with using a small font size. The i’s do have tittles they’ve just blended together on the smaller font.

There are two TOS episodes that directly referenced the “United Earth Space Probe Agency” as the operational command for the Enterprise.

Basically, the United Federation of Planets did not exist when the show started, and its basic structure wasn’t settled on until well into TNG. There’s a second season TNG where the Klingons are federation members.

Was it? Will have to rewatch, but I thought they just lied to the waking Klingon crew.

S2E17, “Samaritan’s Snare”. Wesley said it on screen, so it’s canon.

There’s a decent write-up on the stack exchange.

I remember that now, it felt like an out of place throwaway line later that just didn’t fit.

Makes sense, since Star Fleet probably can’t decide that unilaterally for the entire Federation
