Now, I’d be remiss if I didn’t recommend watching DS9, which is the series where O’Brien gets his spot in the sun. From where we leave them in TNG and pickup at the station, is a whole other story. My wife and I always blame O’brien (at least in TNG. Haven’t watched the other series he’s in).

Definitely been on my list. Just never got around to it.
My guess, it’s because they don’t have a lot of chemistry in DS9, and he acts “O’brien is always sad” when around her.
