If he has x-ray vision shouldn’t he just be seeing a bunch of bones or other dense objects not penetrable by x-rays? Can it be shut off? How? Are we sure he wasn’t responsible for a drastic rise in cancer rates by going around just blasting everyone with his radiation vision all day?
While he can turn off his laser vision I am going to go ahead and say he cannot turn off x-ray vision. Superman only identifies people based on skeletal structure.
Is there a one-shot somewhere about people around superman getting cancer due to his x-ray vision?
I think it would be an observable phenomenon if his eyes always worked in this manner.
In the comics (at least those from my decades ago childhood), it’s depicted as him seeing the same as normal people do - just through stuff. As such, I’ve always assumed it’s not actually X-Rays proper & they just used that phrase to convey the concept of seeing through solid objects.
?
Which part confused you. Show us on the doll.
Oh did OP mean his adoptive parents? I was thinking about his birth parents on Krypton.
Clearly.
He may have been on the other room but his x-ray vision and super hearing means he knew exactly what was happening.

Have you ever seen Superman compliment someones hair?
Me neither.
