Is… Is that way Americans love this show because they can relate to it. Like. Most Americans have a weird thing that they always talk about absolutely nothing but yet still talk a lot. But with no substance.

Probably a little, but mostly that the characters have several issues from which they never learn.

Also because the show is about people dealing with ordinary problems that we all have, but doing absolutely insane things to solve them. The actors are just really good at comedic timing and delivery.

Maybe not Seinfeld himself. He was always the most flat or slightly breaking character (especially early on). The rest really held him up.

Jerry got better, “who is this”, but you’re absolutely right that JLD, Alexander, and Richards carried the show

They really do seem to be trapped in purgatory. I’d feel sorry for them if they weren’t so insufferable. It’s the perfect balance for a sitcom!

Within the fictional world of the Seinfeld show the characters proposed to create a TV show about nothing, and several episodes were about them writing it and selling it to fictional network executives. Some viewers or critics misinterpreted this plot line as a statement that the Seinfeld show itself was about nothing, and this has been a joke ever since.
