      The student was already a Private Pilot. Plenty capable of landing. They were probably going for a more advanced rating. This is like driving on a NASCAR track and having the instructor jump out. The driver already has a license and can park just fine.

        Random/unrelated, but fun fact - there are professional drivers with no driving’s license. My local famous drifter who participates in all sorts of official events doesn’t have a driver’s license too, but to be fair he’s 16 (min age for license is 18). You don’t need a driver’s license for motorsports afaik, not many intersections on a race track

        EDIT: I had to check whether it’s just my country after downvotes. Nope, this is pretty much agreed upon globally. Race tracks are not public roads.

        Actually, driving on a NASCAR track requires less credentials than normal driving as you only have to turn left. NASCAR drivers have to take extra classes to get proper driver’s license.
