Final test starts now, hope you studied!
The student was already a Private Pilot. Plenty capable of landing. They were probably going for a more advanced rating. This is like driving on a NASCAR track and having the instructor jump out. The driver already has a license and can park just fine.
Random/unrelated, but fun fact - there are professional drivers with no driving’s license. My local famous drifter who participates in all sorts of official events doesn’t have a driver’s license too, but to be fair he’s 16 (min age for license is 18). You don’t need a driver’s license for motorsports afaik, not many intersections on a race track
EDIT: I had to check whether it’s just my country after downvotes. Nope, this is pretty much agreed upon globally. Race tracks are not public roads.
Most MotoGP racers do not have motorcycle licences for public roads.
flying might be a little bit different in standard
Yeah, less signs
That’s why the person said the fun fact was unrelated.
Actually, driving on a NASCAR track requires less credentials than normal driving as you only have to turn left. NASCAR drivers have to take extra classes to get proper driver’s license.
Oh man that poor student. I can’t even imagine the utter shock, and then to have to land the plane while tying to wrap your head around what the hell he’d just done. Black humor aside, I feel really bad for her. What a shitty thing to do to someone.
You assume he had a parachute or it was a stunt. And then you actively don’t think about it anymore until the plane is on the ground.
Aviate, navigate, communicate
, lamentate.
This is the single most insane story ever. Who does this to another person?
Someone who will feel guilty for the rest of their life, probably.

That could be an observer on the ground pointing at the instructor.

Same kind of person that would steer into oncoming traffic.
The student said Bertazzo told her, “You know what you have to do, carry on,” before taking off his headset and seatbelt, opening the door and jumping out of the plane, TN reported.
mfs whose parents pushed them into the deep end when Rosario walks in:

Really? You’re just gonna come in here and make me feel old like that?
Punch the keys (on the plane’s control panel) for God’s sake
I used to make so many fads on YTPND.
This needs salad kitty companion panel
Rosario, the student, managed to land the plane safely despite being in “complete shock,” he added. The plane was undamaged, Álvarez said.
Who fucking cares about the plane???
I do! It means the student was able to land it well!
My point is that they stated the student was fine. They then had to talk about potential property damage. The student’s life is the ONLY thing that should matter.
It actually does matter. The student could have been perfectly fine after a hard landing in a corn field that broke its landing gear and fucked up the engine. Or the student could have made a perfect landing back at the airport. Big difference in how well the student handled an extremely difficult situation.
I think the plane matters too, and the environment and lives of others
It also clears up that the pilot didn’t bail due to damage or sabotage the plane to also kill the student.
Bro, think of the shareholders
This is very sad for everyone involved.
I heard someone speak about surviving their suicide attempt, and being grateful that they survived. About being in able to get to a better place, and the suicidal ideation fading away. I wish everyone could find that clarity.
Rickety ratchet, it’s time to pull a Hatchet!
Wow, was she that bad?!
Landed alone, clearly not too bad.
