    Edit: Eh, on further consideration, I’m still set on this, because the comparison is between adult beef & veal and tofu and underripe soybeans. I don’t think the beans ever sprout when they make the soy milk.

        You thought. (Sorry, I’m kinda half-asleep.) I still agree now it’s not perfect because the beans are “unborn”, but it’s close enough for me.

              In the sense that their cells are changing and dividing, yes of course. But that doesn’t stop it from being an unborn baby. Fun fact, soybeans are monoecious so they are hermaphrodites that jizz in their own womb. And you eat their babies.
