Latest fatality is unvaccinated woman, 39, with ‘underlying conditions’ but CDC still lists only two deaths nationwide

A sixth death has been announced in Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak, as new figures show cases in the state have risen above 1,100.

The most recent fatality was reported in Franklin county on Monday in a statement posted to Facebook by its coroner. The victim was identified as a 39-year-old female who “had several underlying conditions, including a past diagnosis of measles with treatment”.

The coroner, James Conner, said it was the first measles-related death in the county “for many years” – and that the patient’s recent diagnosis met the definition of the Pennsylvania health department for inclusion.

Well, Roald Dahl did his best, but that was aimed at the UK. I guess it was no match for the scientific brilliance of people like Jenny McCarthy.

Dahl stated that “it really is almost a crime to allow your child to go unimmunized.”

It’s a shame it cannot be made into literally a crime.

It should be imo, it’s a public health thing. There are immunocompromised people that can’t take the vaccine, there are people allergic to it’s ingredients that also can’t. Those people rely on herd immunity and antivaxxers are literally death for them. That’s after the welfare of the child itself. It’s child abuse not to. Religious exemption shouldn’t be a thing.

Do we like Roald Dahl again? He got canceled a while back for anti semitism, but that’s pretty hot right now.

Shrug? I don’t really care to litigate or re-litigate any of that (I was not even aware of any of it) most especially in relation to public health, because on this issue at least he’s absolutely correct and he unfortunately had to watch his own daughter die before an effective vaccine was available.

No one has to like him for that to be true.

I know it’s fashionable to dismiss an entire person’s life work based on some bullshit belief they hold or some way they have strayed, but I’m definitely not in that camp. It’s possible for someone to be a complete asshole in one way, but still correct about other matters…

I actually completely agree. I can’t stand cancel culture. People are way more than how they stand on a particular topic.

Seems like an unnecessary jab at someone related only by a belief.
