    The only way to delete your content is to delete everything one-by-one. Then, you can delete your account. If you don’t delete the content first, the content stays on the site but the authorship changes from your username to [deleted].

      More specifically you need to edit the comment, because simply deleting one by one isn’t going to work.

      I had an 11 year old account, and about a year ago I went through and manually deleted everything. After the recent events I decided to go through and delete what I thought was the rest of my posts/comments using the API with redact.dev, and lo and behold I was seeing it editing out/deleting content from 10 years ago. They didn’t delete shit, they just hid it from me. I did think it was weird the one time I got a reply to a 5 year old comment that still had my name attached, but I assumed that was a one-off fluke.

      Now I have to trust that they didn’t just go through and revert my mass edits/deletes even though I’ve deleted my account. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I’m done giving them content.
