A Japanese court has sentenced a man to death for the arson attack that killed 36 employees at a famous animation studio in Kyoto. The number of deaths is the largest on record in a criminal trial in the country in more than three decades.

    Oh yeah, japan has the death penalty…

    While I don’t support the death penalty as a judicial measure, as it’s a punishment which cannot be taken back if it ever lands on the wrong person (as it in history has done many times).

    That atrocity is definitely a crime where it would be warranted, were an infallible justice system possible.

        That would be Singapore, scratch the fancy surface and there’s not much underneath. Japan is more nuanced and vast, runs much deeper in so many ways.
