I’ve tried 2 or 3 times, but there was nothing explaining how it worked and what I tried did nothing useful. It just seems stupid.

You just drag your finger to all the letters in the word you’re trying to spell. If you need two of the same letter you just do a little loop while going over that letter.

Wed erred eee wed erred erred erred erred erred weed.

I had to do like 3 loopty-loops on E to get it to type weed. It really doesn’t like that word.

Edit: turns out that pausing on the E for 1 second works better than a loop. Weed.

Yeah there’s a lot of censorship shit you have to work around. It used to be a lot better before tech companies switched from simple proved to work algorithms to bullshit “ai”

I don’t think it has anything to do with censorship and the swipe library doesn’t use AI. It’s just a very ambiguous swipe near very common letters.

On a hunch, I tried simply holding for 1 second on the E. It seems to work a lot better than a loop. You can even see the hovering word change from “we” to “wee” while paused on the E.

I say it’s censorship because I’ve noticed “dirty” words almost always need to be typed out letter by letter but I can swipe for 90% of the other words I want to use.

I can use swipe to spell hypothalamus but can’t use it to say fuck without typing it in over and over or deliberately adding it to my phones dictionary.

Right, but weed is a perfectly ordinary word and I’ve typed it on my KB many times before recently trying to swipe it.
