      Many millions. It demonstrates how any idea can be used to serve evil. Marx had important ideas, but all philosophers had an incomplete view. They aren’t gospel or an unquestionable authority.

      I honestly view him as similar to Jesus. They had mostly good ideas and important messages, but their ideas got co-opted to serve empires. Stalinists today talk about the writings of Lenin and Marx like Christians referencing scripture. The identities overtake the teachings, creating terrible cults.

      However, that doesn’t make the movements universally evil or unprincipled. Liberation theologians and communists have fought side by side against authoritarians. It’s important to understand the nuance and learn from past horrors.

          If you’re gonna criticize Stalin/Marxism-Leninism the Leninism is probably the thing you should target, not the Marxism.

          Marx had no direct impact on any of the people killed by the Soviet government, Lenin had a very real and direct impact.
