Dualshock 4 had a v1 and a v2 and the only difference was battery life and the colour of the buttons. This is almost certainly going to be the exact same change minus the colour change I imagine.

There were slight variations on the micro USB port assembly. When I modded my DS4 to USB-C it was crucial to know which of the few different versions it was.

Spending nearly 200$ for a controller that doesn’t have a mic, a speaker, gyro controls, haptics, or reactive triggers is just crazy to me.

Edit: and it doesn’t even have hall effect joysticks lmfao

Dual Sense charging station (included) offers easy click-in charging

    Nice, if true.

The description says it includes the charging station, so that explains the price increase.

There’s actually no price increase, $90 CAD is the OG Canadian MSRP.

Good, I absolutely hate how terrible the battery life is… it should have never been that bad.

Looks like they took it down. But good ol’ trusty web archive seems to have caught it.

I got a Wii-U Pro controller that still has battery life and I haven’t charged that thing in years.

I came here to mention that thing. There must be a nuclear reactor or something like that built in.

      With less features.

The battery hogs are things like the high precision vibration and the variable resistance triggers, both of which are huge game changers.

I wouldn’t consider the battery life on the PS5 controller to be bad? I charge it like once every two weeks (when I am not in a semester and have time to play.) But I do turn off rumble, turn down the light on it, etc.

I didn’t turn the haptics or rumble off but did set them to a lower intensity and have seen a very noticeable increment in the battery life.
