Enrico Colantoni made that movie special. He walked into auditions for Mathesar and was so good at portraying the aliens as having bizarre human adjacent behavior, like vertically clapping or that braying laugh, that they rewrote the rest of the aliens to behave like him.
That man need so much respect for what he brought to Galaxy Quest.
“Theee, mmmm, historicAAL documents…” I think of Mathesar’s pronunciation whenever I deal with a stack of old newspapers, which is A LOT of my volunteer time.
I love that he used some weird acting vocal exercise as the inspiration for their accent and it works so hilariously well.
