Growing up on acreage that used to be an orchard, I would spend my autumn days walking around with an aluminum bat, smashing every single apple with wasps or hornets feeding upon it. I miss those days.

Surprisingly not. They were usually disoriented from eating fermented apple. Aggressive enough to fly around angrily when you came near, but never quote coordinated enough to land a sting. I revived far more stings from trying to catch honeybees in jars, which I feel bad about in retrospect and definitely deserved. I never intended to hurt or kill the honeybees, though. Just the hornets.

Kids can be dumbasses. And needlessly cruel. Been there myself. I sometimes would like to slap the shit out of kid me for stupid things I did.

No no no. Bees are bumbly friendly yellow and black little bubbles of fluff.

      Wasps are murder stripes.

Bumblebee are extremely cute too, very peaceful and extra fluffy.

I have carpenter bees by my house. They sound like an air raid, but they’re hilarious the way they just bump into things.

Most types of wasps can’t even sting. And even the stinging ones are harmless if left alone and useful insects.

Don’t do bees dirty like that man. No other insect dies more for people than bees
