The population of Indigenous Americans is estimated to have decreased from approximately 145 million to around 10 million.
135 million.
Not all of that was the US, the old empires of France and Spain and England played a huge role, but since it’s founding the US has killed millions along with Canada and Mexico. Disease played a large role, but much of that was deliberately spread which muddies the estimates.
And that’s just one of the genocides the US was involved in. There have been many others.

My attention was originally brought to this by the book Lies My Teacher Told Me - I listened to an audiobook so sadly I can’t really search it for the relevant passage without investing a bunch of time. No official death toll is yet available; nevertheless, local reports say anywhere between 80 and 200 Gazans were killed during the latest Israeli massacre.
Remember like a couple of weeks back, when the UN said that Israel had shot at their aid convoy from the sea.
Or the Israelis sitting at the border crossing preventing humanitarian aid being delivered and Israel doing very little about it. All because the suffering of 100 is more important than the suffering of millions. What kind of twisted moral one should have to believe this.
Or Israelian authorities (COGAT) withholding tent poles and delivering the so needed tents without poles, because you know tent poles are very deadly weapons.
And Israel can alleviate the suffering of all Palestinians if they want, just that they don’t want, they want for Palestinians to suffer to learn their place. They are acting as a bully while screaming I am the victim in front of the rest of the world.
What’s the solution?
Flood Palestine with humanitarian aid, start delivering more than they need so the incentive to loot those delivery trucks is much lower.
Right now people are desperate. Just think what you would do if your family and your kids are starving. I know that I will do everything possible to try to provide for them. And now multiply this to hundreds of thousands and you will get the full picture.
Even if Israel didn’t kill all those men with bullets, they are indirectly guilty that those people are so desperate. And here we don’t talk about brown or white people, civilians or terrorist as I am sure that every human being in this situation will act similarly. We are talking about hungry and desperate people.

If the US cut them off they would just turn to Russia. Putin and Netanyaho are like Putin and Trump. Russia would jump at the chance to broaden their foothold in the Middle East, and it would go perfectly with their narrative of fighting “Nazis” in Ukraine, and it would give the US a black eye.
The US should be doing far more to distance itself from what Israel is doing, but the only way it can actually stop it would be a committed invasion.

This is what happens when humanitarian aid is denied for weeks. When food becomes not only scarce but literally gone, there is no order, there is no line, it’s every person for themselves. Just looking at some of the replies to that X post reminds me:

You do realise Israel can open one of their northern crossings and deliver that humanitarian aid with trucks, but they decided not to.
And then stating that they are the victim here is absolutely and utterly ridiculous. They have deliberately created this reality. At any point in time they could have decided to prevent this from happening but nope, they did not.
Plus air drop is an extremely expensive and ineffective way to deliver humanitarian aid and is definitely NOT a long term solution, which has a more symbolic role than anything else.

Israel is responsible for making these people desperate enough that they get trampled in a rush for scarce food. Israel also admits it opened fire on a crowd of hungry civilians. Nothing about this makes the IDF look anything other than very bad.
Although that may be true, a shooting by defense forces at a chaotic scene of looting is certainly more understandable and less egregious than opening fire on innocent people orderly lining up. This article distorts the fundamental facts of what happened. It’s clear they want to make Israel look as villainous as possible, objectivity be damned.
