Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania after an arrest warrant was issued by UK authorities in relation to charges including “sexual aggression”, his representative has said.

The social media influencer, 37, and his brother Tristan Tate, 35, face charges dating to 2012-15, according to a statement.

The UK now? Splendid. It was otherwise not a great day for me but things are looking up.

“First officer’s log, supplemental. It was only 9 am and I already had to get out my trombone. Also, those twins in Stellar Cartography promised to stop by my quarters later. Things are looking up for Commander Riker! And also little Ensign Riker, if you know what I mean, computer.”

First the IL-76 plane crashes in Russia, then the Russian liberation force destroys a couple of BMPs inside of Russia and occupy a town and now this? What a wonderful day, thank you Universe.

Elon must be big mad today.

I’m curious about the specific charges facing these assholes. What is the legal definition of “sexual aggression?” I don’t see aggression defined in the UK’s sexual assault laws. Is that a Romanian thing?

My guess is a mistranslation of “sexual assault” going from English to Romanian and back.

That would make sense. That’s not a word that shows up in UK law from what I can tell, but the press are all over it. When you search for the term, you get a billion Andre Tate stories, and no much else.

Seems like a bad translation, then lazy journalism maybe?

Not news… Please, stop making stupid people famous. Or at least, stop writing about them…

They’re stupid, but also dangerously influential. They’re important people to keep an eye on. This is news.

Definitely news. This also sends a message to other people trying to mimic them.

Plus it’s not only news. It’s good news.

I had never heard of this dude before he was arrested. But do you know who had? My thirteen year old daughter. I’m cool with the current turn of events.

While I agree and also complain about this, I draw the exception at reporting when justice is being served. Good god, what a way to start the day!

Sexual aggression is illegal in the UK? That sounds pretty boring, ngl.
