Pissed because it’s harder to find trans hookers at a family friendly resort

(without Mike Johnson’s son getting an alert on his phone)

Hey, between MTG bringing whatever the fuck she’s smoking, Matt Gaetz supplying the definitely of-age hookers, and Boebert never being more than a few shots away from handy-ville I’m sure it’ll be the kind of party republican lawmakers adore.

I don’t know what MTG is smoking but she definitely lights it with a Jewish space laser.

It’s because conservatives don’t have the ability to introspect. They are so used to blaming everyone else for their own internal feelings that they can’t but blame each other for the party’s problems. The purity tests were always going to come, we’re finally starting to see that unfold.

But privately, some Republicans have complained about the venue choice. Sources said Speaker Mike Johnson selected the Greenbrier Resort because it was “family friendly,” in a break from past retreats which have taken place in sunny Florida – the preferred location of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Lol, what did they expect to happen when they made the religious nut speaker? They’re lucky it’s not Ned Flanders Bible Camp lmfao

How did I not catch that part of the article. That’s in my state.

If they do all show up, our average IQ will drop at least 15 points for the duration of the retreat, and we don’t really have any to spare.

I only know about this from Fallout 76, can you go in the top secret government tunnels these days?

Greenbrier is really nice too. But yea, no debauchery is gonna happen there considering there’s really nothing remotely nearby. But the tour of the military installation underneath is really fucking rad.

It’s also an odd thing to act like Congress needs to go some place that is family-friendly, whatever that means. Aren’t these functional adults?

It means no extramarital sex or drugs. Generally other workplaces would call it a more professional environment

That sentiment is fully understandable for, like a family reunion or spending holidays with the in-laws.

    For a governing body, it’s…yikes.

What do they even have to discuss anyways? It’s not like the GOP even bothers with a policy platform anymore other than hurt outsiders, obstruct, and get money. The RNC “learn more” link to their platform just directs to a list of committee procedures. Even if there are individuals with integrity they have mostly left or retired, with the remaining standing for nothing but greed and paranoia, aligning politically with authoritarian dictators. The electoral college is going to bury us propping up two parties if GOP cannot clean house and a thirty party cannot gain political momentum to compete with the democratic party.

Yeah, bet it’s to avoid alienating the Qanon crowd by having a very publicly-known private meeting. Let’s not forget they’re courting the conspiracy theorists, doing their best to make conspiracy theories go mainstream.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Many Republicans plan to skip the House GOP retreat as they grumble about both the location and the idea of spending time with one another, with tensions still running high inside the party in the wake of their unprecedented speakership drama.

Meanwhile, when asked if he was attending, GOP Rep. Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota told CNN: “No way, I have to run for governor.” And Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee quipped: “I don’t retreat, I move forward!

And other GOP lawmakers and aides told CNN they were simply not enthusiastic about the idea of having to huddle with the rest of their party at a time when Republican infighting has prevented them from even passing procedural votes.

In another hiccup for the retreat, the House GOP’s keynote speaker – Fox Business Host Larry Kudlow – had to drop out at the last minute, sources say.

Among the Republicans who have decided to skip the retreat include Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee; Reps.

Dusty Johnson of South Dakota and Stephanie Bice of Oklahoma, the co-chairs of the Main Street Caucus; and Rep. Dave Joyce of Ohio, chairman of the Republican Governance Group.
