Dude, the only redeeming thing about being disabled and out of the work force is being able, at any time of day, to grab a drink of whatever I want, and go chill in my back yard.
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate in cooler weather. Ice water, lemonade, or iced tea in warmer weather. There may or may not be a half shot of bourbon involved on very rare occasions (I’m really not much of an alcohol drinker).
Like, we have chickens now, and I’ll sometimes go out of a morning with my beverage of choice, my camp chair, and just fuck with the rooster while he crows.
I strongly encourage anyone still working to find time to do what this post describes. Just do it.
Hmm I have near doughnut shop. Why aren’t I doing this??
The best time to start lifemaxxing is 20 years ago. The second best time to start is today.
What’s the third best time?
Arbor day.
tomorrow prly
Well, seems like it might be hard for you to communicate your order
Lol I see it. Luckily I don’t rely on autocorrect to order doughnuts - I can just point and mumble!
Are you Bob Odenkirk circa 1996?
I often wonder what we would do all day in a world where noone has to work or get an education.
I think anime is a good proxy what people would like to do if they had the means. Go on an adventure or join some association that takes some activity way too seriously, like competitive cooking or some sport.
I think people would still “work”, but do the work they enjoy the most. Like gardening or something.
And overall spend way more time socializing, with much closer bonds than you would have with collegues at work.
It’s kind of weird how cold and distant relationships are at work, considering they are the people you spend most time with.
Our society wouldn’t be anywhere close as atomized.
Education would still be needed, you see in US southern states what you get with too less.
I just had this call with my dad. I am a bit behind on chores so I was complaining to him all the things I am doing today, and how great it was when it’s done.
And he just casually said; ‘don’t forget that it’s probably going to rain the rest of the week. today is a nice day’.
So now I’m going to sit in the park for a bit before I do my groceries… the dishes sure don’t mind if I do them tomorrow instead. Get yourself a parent (or friend, or stranger on the internet) to remind you to enjoy life every now and then! (and remind your own friends when you can
That’s a good dad!
My mom was really big on “don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” My dad was big on “never do today what can wait for tomorrow.” I take after my dad :)
Oh my dad is very much like your mum. He’s just getting a day older an more mellow :')
This makes me want a croissant at an outdoor cafe.
I did this today laying a hammock on the nicest day this year with my puppy enjoying the cable I just set up
Life shortening more like
Nah, the good ones use lard or butter, not shortening.
10 happy years, or 80 sad years?
This situation is more like 80 happy years or 80 1/2 sad years.
You could have one pastry like that a day and it wouldn’t make a difference as long as the rest of your diet is fine and you’re getting some exercise. Even just being outside is great for health.
The lower amount of stress could probably actually also extend the amount of time on this planet.
You sound fun
Sorry I’m in a relationship
Edit : added those words I forgot , ruining everything.
A whole relationship? Damn.
not as life shortening as sixteen tons …
