    Where is his agency here?

Get a second box that is not broken. Put it next to the broken box.

Let Sencha decide which box to keep. He’ll choose the one he wants. Discard the other one.

      I love empirical cat ownership.

Or once you take either away, he will consistently want the one that isn’t there.

There was a time when my cat owned three cardboard boxes, and whenever I wanted to take the old cardboard boxes that he had bitten through, he would chase me and meow in opposition.

Masking tape. It’s paper and glue, eco and cat friendly and will provide him the structural support today’s modern feline requires in loungewear accessories.

Based on the fuzz on the torn corner, he likes rubbing on the broken box. I’d leave that one for him for a while as-is, replace it when he doesn’t use it anymore.

Your cat looks exactly like my first cat. Sweet girl lived 18 good years by my side and your picture has my eyes tearing up. 🥺😭

All good, she passed a few years ago. No longer mourning, just tugged my heartstrings a bit.

I know the feeling. It’s been a few years for me too and I still miss him so much. It’s difficult when I see a cat that looks like him.

Ours get new boxes when the one with an upsetable tummy pukes in one. She won’t go back after. Sencha’s lookin’ good.

He seems pretty ok with it.
