Sword Art Online wasn’t meant to be something to strive for.

Not quite a gun but close.

…Luckey said he turned to a more rudimentary but no less horrifying method of three explosive charges he usually uses “for a different project” (which he did not elaborate on) attached to the headset essentially like gun barrels. The charges are connected to a photo sensor that detects when the headset’s screen flashes red at a certain frequency during a “game over” display. Once that happens, “the charges fire, instantly destroying the brain of the user.”

The visuals remind me of that homemade suicide helmet that used a bunch of shotgun shells. That thing creeps me out from the amount of conscious effort the person put into building a device to end their life, it wasn’t a spur of the moment thing.

It’s like something you’d expect to see out of Saw…

        I want to play a game…

        No really…

You know, there are FAR worse ways to commit suicide…

Still I keep flashing back to my hardcore runs in Diablo 4 and think I’d probably pick a different game lol

So, I went down a weird rabbit hole a few months back and discovered that there are gamers pursuing a level of depravity that I want expecting. There are open-source mods for some competitive multiplayer games that control sex toys.

you can theoretically attach it to anything that has an outward API useable by developers. for an ultra basic example, it likely wouldnt be hard to tie it to a controller rumble API

interesting, but unless I get some grand awakening I’m probably not gonna be doing that

Yeah. I’ve seen some listed in the supported games. It’s not my thing and I think it’s kinda weird. However, I think the freakiness and weirdness of humanity, like this, is just beautiful.

“don’t yuck someone else’s yum.” words to live by.

If go further and say that one should appreciate someone else’s “yum” (as long as it is ethical), especially if it seems strange, outlandish, and/or confusing. The human experience is greatly enriched because of the bizarre things that some of us enjoy.
