He CAN win Michigan, he won’t at this rate, but he still CAN. He just has to make a lot of changes that a) he doesn’t feel are necessary and b) isn’t wiling to do.
Like admit the economy sucks for a lot of Americans.
I got polled yesterday and was asked to write a winning line for Biden:
“In 2020, under President Trump, you didn’t know where your next roll of toilet paper was coming from! People were scalping it out of the backs of their cars in grocery store parking lots! You want to go back to that?”
So Biden’s campaign team called her, and a “rival” who’s was also planning for 2028 after Biden left
Kind of burying the lede that Biden’s campaign team is reaching out to alternatives to gauge interest now that the family is blaming the campaign. I doubt the rival was on the call, so it sounds like the campaign is discussing alternatives with multiple options.
There’s no reason to keep propping up Biden. He’s a liability and not even his campaign team, family, and closest political allies are united anymore.
It is too risky to keep plowing ahead with him especially if he thinks he’s still doing great and has a shot.
My guess would be they were arranging calls to rally support and force the alternatives to say they’re not interested in replacing him.
If they replace Biden I hope to fuck it isn’t with this milquetoast spineless asshat.
Edit: Damn, I didn’t know Lemmy was so big on Whitmer.
You should be so lucky as to get the half of a progressive which is Whitmer.
The establishment is pushing Newsom.
The smart money is on Andy Beshear.
Say what you will about Newsom but he’s an effective communicator who understands the issues. He knows how to effectively debate and while that shouldn’t matter we all know it does. His only real liability is that right wing media has convinced Midwestern voters that California is a post apocalyptic hell hole.
Newsom has been sprinting to the right.
Gavin Newsom is fine, but not nearly as good as Biden or even his predecessor as Governor of CA. Jerry Brown was a much better governor.
Gavin Newsom will do what voters want, but mainly because it makes him feel powerful. I remember seeing a new statue on Market Street in San Francisco when he was mayor; it had the artist’s name in little tiny letters and “GAVIN NEWSOM” in big letters.
