Thank you for commenting. I couldn’t for the life of me remember the title of the book or the author.

edit: TIL: There was an animated show of Busytown called The Busy World of Richard Scarry

This car is perfect for getting out of awkward conversations. Anytime you want to leave, just say, “I have to pea” and drive away.

You have no idea how much I wanted Lowly Worm’s apple car when I was a kid.

I mean I still want Lowly Worm’s apple car, but when I was a kid, I thought maybe I’d get it one day.

My grandma was amazing. She made me a lowly worm stuffy when I was a kid. It had the hat and everything. I loved it to death. I actually still have several of the stuffed animals she made for me as a kid, my kids get to enjoy them now.

That’s awesome! My grandmother did a lot of knitting and sewing, but nothing that creative. It’s great that you have something like that to pass down to your kids!

Imagine getting into an accident in this thing, and while the wreckage is concentrated to the spot of the accident, your ass is found 2 miles up the road upsidedown, with your corpse look like it just went through the spin cycle.

Serious question: what is it? Is it a real production car, or a custom Isetta, or a photoshop, or what?

I also think it looks like an Isetta

Looks like, but it is not one.

I love tiny cars. If I could buy an EV Isetta, I would. Although my absolute dream car would be an EV Nash Metropolitan convertible.

Two tone red and white, just like that.

I am also in the U.S. and I would also love to get one, but I couldn’t afford a new car any time soon.

Electric moped cars are probably the closest you can realistically get, i’ve seen a dude drive one of those in my neighbourhood and it looks delightfully like a car that hasn’t reached maturity yet

They’re all so slow. I want something that can reach highway speeds. I know it’s a pipe dream.

This is what we need to end the arms race on the roads (we’re following in the footsteps of the US here in Australia). We could all be peas in a pod.

You absolutely must, if you own such a gem, refer to it as the peamobile. Both because it is gloriously whimsical, perfectly matching the aesthetic of the vehicle, and because it just sounds fun in that funny innuendo sort of way.
