The people don’t matter as much as the message of the meme. But for future reference that’s Kamala Harris the democratic nominee for United States president and her husband Doug Emhoff.

I was pretty sure that was Kamala but the dude threw me and I was trying to figure out if he was the prospective VP.

Nah, Governor Walz is the one who is 4 months older than her, looks 20 years older and is about 5 years cooler 😁

One of my nurse mentors years ago used to say “city miles hit harder than highway miles” and both military service AND the chronic physical and behavioral conditions it often results in definitely count as “city miles” for the purposes of this analogy! On a similar note my sister with several developmental and metabolic disorders is almost 40 but looks 55+. She went salt-n-pepper gray just a little after the age of 25.

I know, right? The more I read about him the more I like. I’ve worked with a looot of disabled veterans who get treated like trash once they get out so it’s nice to see someone put their money where their mouth is.

A lot of people, esp right-wingers, will say shit like they want to support veterans instead of all these moochers on public assistance and drug addicts and I often struggle to convince them that that venn diagram is damn near a fucking circle.

Can confirm, family business. From the minute you walk into MEPS till the VA you are just a serial number piece of meat. Anyone who fights for better vet treatment gets a solid 👍 in my book. Some of those “drug addict moochers” had more medals than cloth on the uniform when it came time to clean out the closet but who cares about that after they come home right

I feel like that would only make sense if there was a vowel between the two that was a u or similar vowel, so it would really be more “fig-otus.” That said, I’m with @[email protected] in thinking it should definitely be a voiceless pharyngeal fricative. Wikipedia offers the h in horrible as an example, and in french (our instance’s other primary language), the r in faire.

honestly I mostly sent it to him because normally he’s the one who doesn’t know, but the fact that he knew and I didn’t just spun my head right round (I needed that though, I’ve had the month off and my thought patterns were getting a little too rigid). Also though I forgot he’s still warming his toes on the dumpster fire that’s left of twitter.

HBO was advertising Veep when Biden withdrew. I bring it up because in addition to the obvious plot parallels that’s the most Julia Louis-Dreyfus expression I’ve ever seen.

Everything is propaganda. I’m simply pointing out that some propaganda is more palatable than other types.

I don’t give a squat about some dumpy middle age goon trying to make themselves look relatable and cool for an election.

I do give a squat when a fat liar lies his way to the top of the pile, shits on our country for four years, before starting those lies back up & trying to do it all over again.

            Everything is propaganda.

Your post isn’t coming from a pr team being paid to boost some government figure visibility, or at last i hope so. Not everything is propaganda, twitter posts with politicians taking selfies 100% are.

EVERYTHING is sponsored. If it comes from a candidate, it’s sponsored. If it’s sponsored, it’s PROPAGANDA.

I’m honestly not sure what’s left to debate here. Trumps “ads” are out & out falsehoods, lies, fabrications if you will.

Incorrect information edited into a narrative designed to generate an emotion, typically fear, that calls on you to act by voting for an anthropomorphic circus peanut. You know? Lies.

That picture is a picture. It has no words. It might tell a lie, but it is not a fabrication to generate fear. It’s a bunch of goons trying to look relatable enough to vote for.

Will they lie if elected? Yes. The difference is they aren’t lying to my face directly while trying to pit me against my neighbors in an attempt to drum up hostilities. The other one is doing that.

Where do you think they spend millions on their electoral campaign? Advertisement on the telegraph? This is a twitter repost rest assure they advertise there a lot.
