Incompetence? In the Russian army? I’m shocked. Really shocked.

Clearly the column wasn’t long enough or some would have made it through! Let’s make it 3 times as long and try again!

The location of the strike is almost 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the Ukrainian border and 20 kilometers (13 miles) away from the site of the current fighting

Oh my fuck. With Ukraine’s known ability to strike deep into Russia’s territory (like training and staging areas) it genuinely is criminal incompetence above and beyond what we’ve already come to expect from russia. It’s astounding.

Two and a half years, and instead of having two and a half years worth of experience, they seem to have one day of experience 894 times. Over and over and over and over again.
There is something fundamentally stunted and warped with these alcoholic people.

Incompetence of their side is definitely a perpetual factor - but the excellent intelligence and satellite surveillance intel of the Ukrainians is the real cause here.

Read between the lines - this means the US is providing satellite intel inside Russia, of a moving target, in addition potentially to authorized use of HIMARS inside Russia along with that SitRep

Speaking of satellite surveillance, there definitely will be a race to create weapons that could destroy satellites and even create space weapons. This war will be studied in years to come to come up with new weapons; not just take advantage of pre-existing technologies for future warfare.

Those anti space capabilities already existed prior to this war. The US demonstrated the ability to shoot down a satellite using a fighter jet in the 80s. I’m sure we’ve gotten a lot more creative since then. China and Russia have both developed anti satellite capabilities since then as well.

The Russians, Chinese and Americans all have it. They just understand that physically taking out another nations satellite would be considered an act of war.

It’s probably just bad luck. I bet they couldn’t do it a second time!
