    Of course it does.

The broad point of Project 2025 is to eliminate anything and everything that provides any measurable benefit to the common people and/or in any way impedes the wealthy and the corporations doing absolutely whatever they want to do, no matter how much harm it might cause to people. That’s the exact reason that so much of it focuses on eliminating or at least neutering government agencies - the goal is to make it so that corporations and the wealthy few face no constraints and no consequences - so that they have free rein to rob and pillage and rape and destroy.

And it’s not only the playbook Trimp will follow, but the reason that billionaires like Musk and Thiel are backing Trump. They aren’t really backing Trump per se - they’re backing Project 2025.

Also notice the language. climate change is “alarmist” and a “hoax”. When you look at countries like Russia you can see that this kind of language can be easily turned into climate activist becoming “foreign agents” hurtung the US with “false news” and “missinformation”. Hence they clearly have to be arrested. Obviously this is down the line, but it is not hard to find right wing comments about killing, arresting and otherwise removing leftist.

We already see that being talked about with “anti white racism” and the FBI supposed to be used to counter that, after the FBI would be palced directly under Trump, who is above the law as president. You get the picture.

those goals aren’t anything new from P25, conservatives have been doing that forever. What P25 is doing is laying out a specific plan to purge career govt staffers who have been somewhat protected from partisanship to this point.

Bunkers aren’t gonna do shit if climate change really kicks off. None of those assholes can grow their own food or anything else they would need to do to survive longer than your average prepper. They’ll make nice targets for desperate people to spend a lot of resources trying to open though.

I know it feels good to think this way but you are wrong.

Salt mines are being bought up and turned into self contained estates capable of self-sustained agriculture and power generation. Not for the general public, but by billionaires terrified of what’s to come.

And they’re not like you are imagining, cute little bunker homes like those repurposed missile silos.

Nope, they’re mini cities, capable of maintaining the families, servants, and guards of the ultra rich for hundreds of years without outside support.

They are already being built, and more we don’t know about.

When you have enough money, you can prepare for anything, and the only survivors of the coming economic collapse will be the people inside those bunkers.

I think it’s more ambivalence. they’re fine with the status quo because obviously they’re on top. But even if shit really starts hitting the fan they are wealthy enough to be just fine. And before full blown apocalypse comes they’ll be long dead.

Yeah that’s why they hired psychologists to give them tactics to control their guards and slaves.

            The answers were:

            Keeping family members hostage

The opportunity to intermarry into the owner class within the bunker

            Drugs

(I shit you not) segregating the female guards and slaves and only allowing access to them through a rewards system

            Better rations and living quarters.

Establishing a religion with the owner family as literal gods. I know this sounds stupid to us but imagine 3 generations of children raised like this in a tiny enclosed environment were all knowledge of the outside world is mediated through the owners.

A mix of these tactics may work in the medium term, and I’m sure there will be bunkers that revolt but I feel there will be some that don’t for one reason or another. It’s really no different from how kings had to work to keep their military leaders from taking power.

This is why Larry Ellison bought almost the entirety of Lānaʻi (and Zuckerberg bought some of the remainder). Not only does it have an eight-mile moat between it and the rest of Hawai‘i, it’s also got great climate and fertile volcanic soil. In fact, it was formerly the world’s largest pineapple plantation.

I don’t think it’s about this specific use case. It’s about the fact that the minority of ultra wealthy will always have the means and resources to escape the plight of the common folk. Plus any consequences are unlikely to be realized in their own lifetimes, only their kids or grandkids might really be affected.

Even if they are affected they can buy their space station or remote luxury village with slave paid labor. There’s not enough resources for everyone to be taken care of, but you can bet your ass they and their families will be taken care of first.

Neither party lives in reality. Neither party actually believes in climate change. The Republicans outright deny it and the Democrats do nothing about it. It’s not enough to say you believe in climate change, you have to demonstrate that you believe in climate change by behaving as though it is real.

We’ve got two cars racing toward a cliff. One has the gas pedal weighed down with a cinder block and the driver insists there’s no cliff. The driver of the other car says “what an idiot!” as he very intelligently, moderately, and progressively presses his gas pedal halfway down

Neither driver will acknowledge their passengers’ pleas to hit the brakes

Motherfucker, you’re not understanding. The idea that “I don’t have enough votes in this made up fascist government to pass effective climate legislation” means that it’s acceptable to give up is climate change denial. This is not a matter where we have the liberty of sitting around and playing nice with fascists for decades on end. We need to make radical change now.

If the rules say that you can’t make radical change now then break the rules, if the fascists try to stop you then it’s a war. So be it. The alternative is the end of the world.

Before we can do anything, we need an organized group of people who can agree on what needs to be done. Before we have that, we have to identify that what is being done isn’t enough. People who believe that the Democrats are doing enough on this topic aren’t going to organize with us for radical change.

What are we supposed to do? End the use of fossil fuels and transition to solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, nuclear power in whatever configuration the experts determine is necessary. End the use of cars outside of necessary exceptions and transition most transport to trains and bikes. End animal agriculture. Democrats are not doing these things, do not want to do these things, will not do these things. You have to recognize that Democrats are your enemy just as much as Republicans.

        Neither party lives in reality.

They know exactly what they are doing. They are saying one thing publicly, but the nitty gritty is that they are enabling the ability to manipulate wealth using the power to choose the winners and the insider knowledge that enables enormous wealth generation. There is a reason why few politicians are poor even if they entered office penniless, and it isn’t book deals or speeches.

Politicians are not idiots (usually.) Even the ones who are batshit crazy in the news have another personality that isn’t the mass media one. We know next to nothing about public figures and celebrities actual real beliefs or day to day behaviors, we only know the idolized media coverage which is itself tailored to generate more revenue, not deliver facts or do the right thing for humanity.
