I’ll take the grape ones if you don’t want them.

Particularly Pixie Stix. Grape’s the best flavor of those.

Yeah, wtf? Grape is fantastic. Its literally the flavor “purple”.

In Britain, if not Europe, “purple” is often blackcurrant, not grape.

    Some iffy candidates:

    • root beer
    • black licorice
    • grape

Root beer barrels come to mind. Obviously black licorice has it’s own candy. Usually I see grape flavored fun dip and pop rocks

I guess I took the question differently. If it’s a flavor sold by itself, it is the star of that candy

      Black licorice

I am Dutch and questioning the core of my existence now.

Don’t you guys have salted black licorice, too? That’s like the candy version of adding insult to injury.

Yes we have Grasshoppermouse, and to us it is like salted caramel.

ok but its really nothing like salted caramel…

that salmiak is ammonium chrloride, not sodium chloride which is whats in salted caramel… and salted caramel is balanced between salty and sweet. I’ve had sweedish salmiak candy that is essentially a hollow cylinder of licorice that melts to a point that it dumps a quarter teaspoon of ammonium salt onto your tongue. no salted caramel comes anywhere near that, and for gods sake why would it

yes ok… the gestalt is radically different, though. if someone had a salmiak licorice and was thinking it’d be anything like salted caramel they’d find that they don’t have a lot in common.

like pineapple on pizza is sweet and salty but I wouldn’t compare it to ammonium chloride candy

Ha! Yes, we have various fruity flavors of “licorice” in the US. In an attempt to avoid confusion we sometimes call it black licorice. We sometimes spell it properly, liquorice.

Let’s play hide and seek, I’ll hide and you seek professional help.

All joking aside, I’m glad you enjoy them! I’ve never really met anyone who does so I always have to just begrudgingly eat the grape candy myself when it comes in a bag with different flavors. I hate food waste too much to throw the damn stuff out

Ah, the texture of fine styrofoam and the flavor of nearly extinct fruit shaped like a cartoon depiction of the least memorable circus snack. Truly a champion among sweets.

I used to love those as a kid. They were even better when they were a little stale and they had a firmer outer crust while the inside was nice and soft. Havent had them in ages, though.

My disdain for cherry candies actually comes from a childhood of sore throats and, therefore, gratuitous cherry-flavored medicines. I know it’s all mental but I can ’feel’ my tongue go numb from anything with that cherry flavor…

Lime? Don’t see a lot of lime candy all by themselves.

Butter too. So many candies include butter, but it’s rarely hyped as the star flavor.

Am I the only one who doesnt care for watermelon flavor?

Of all the “red” flavors, watermelon is the most disappointing. Just give me cherry, strawberry, or raspberry. Far, far superior.
