When I’m in that state, I don’t remember old dreams, I create new ones that blend in with what’s happening around me. Like I see that I’m talking to a frog, but the frog is saying everything on the TV that’s still playing.

If the frog starts singing the Ozempic song, do you punch it across the room?

I get that too right before I fall asleep! At least when I’m sleeping in public. My brain distorts and abstracts what’s going on around me into a weird half dream. Then I fall asleep.

I don’t get to read much anymore, but I used to be reading books at basically all times. Many times I’ve fallen asleep, book in hand, and continued reading a book that - it would turn out - had nothing to do with the book I was holding.

Sometimes, I wouldn’t even have to turn the pages. Instead, I would just continue reading the other side of the page in front of me.

On occasion the story was much more interesting than the one the book actually presented.

Definitely annoying if you like to journal that kind of stuff. I’ve thought about putting a notebook next to my bed

Yeah. One of my hobbies is making music and my brain always dreams up the biggest bangers when I’m half asleep. Unfortunately waking up and/or trying to input them into the PC makes them disappear almost instantly.

I start having pleasant auditory hallucinations. I’m also very susceptible to delta waves like white noise putting me to sleep. Might go together. 🤷🏼‍♂️

For me, it has been a decade of be tired, wake up later.

I’ve had maybe a dream a year which I actually remember, and they are always of being taunted and then myself attempting to save the taunter from doing something very foolish that will put them in great danger, and then they die gruesomely, and then I die horribly and jolt awake.

I thought it was when my eyes start drooping when I’m trying to get a couple of hours of gaming in before having to go to work the next morning

I do, for the first 5 minutes of being awake. But I come back to the same places over several nights, so those dreams must be stored in there somewhere (although I can’t access those mempries while awake).

Some do and some don’t, it seems highly personal.
