It’s been a little while since I saw anyone remind you that you are awesome and everyone here likes you.

So, uh, that thing I said.

I’m sorry but I have to use this opportunity to rant about how much I hate hate hate that fuck Steve Harvey because my daughter’s therapist’s office keeps their waiting room TV on a 24-hour Family Feud channel so I have to go sit in my car while she’s in there because I can’t take it.

Not only have I never understood why anyone finds him the least bit funny, he’s a misogynist who hates atheists. Fuck him.

Also, that show is clearly enhanced with a laugh track.

    Edit: My daughter’s therapist

    Navarch Li Nalas, obviously.

Defeated Gul Zarale in desperate single combat, and led his cell and the entire resistance to victory and freedom.

Also the most humble bajoran you will ever meet.

Zarale was in his undies. But the people needed a hero and Li became one for real anyway when he saved the Emissary’s life.

        Zarale was in his undies.

Transparent spoon head propaganda, the Great Empire trying to make excuses for being beaten by barely armed farmers.

No one can stand against the will of the prophets, and the cardassians will feel their cleansing fire soon enough.

No one deserves to die in a fiery death and the fact that I still think that she also doesn’t proves it.

Gul Dukat is so well written. It really seems like he’s going to be redeemed seasons 3 and 4, and then WHAM-POW he’s a fascist who sells his own people out to the Dominion, and a racist who actually thinks Cardassians are superior beings. The show makes you like him, and then completely pulls the rug out from under you.

      redeemed seasons 3 and 4

I hated that part. It was so unbelievable that a man like him suddenly becomes a saint. Also, at some point suddenly nobody seemed to think of Cardassians as evil anymore, while previously they were portrayed as raping mass murderer fascists.

But props to Marc Alaimo, he really played Dukat extremely well.

I think it was pretty hard to determine exactly what his role in the occupation was until s6e11, “Waltz” when he outs himself while pulling a Misery on Sisco. Though I guess his selling out the Cardassians to the Dominion one season earlier was a pretty glaring clue. It seemed to me that he could have been a victim of circumstance rather than a vindictive monster until that point.

Though in hindsight, I get it being very hard to swallow that he might be redeemable.

Then they completely break him in the later seasons, make him very vulnerable and human with grief, and he still comes back as an asshole.
