Abortion is a religious right 🤣 Pure gold. Tearing down the shield of “but my religion says so” is great.
As ever, Satan is the good guy.
I mean he was an angel that was kicked out of heaven for his don’t tread on me tee shirt…
But in all seriousness, the religious right has more in common with Satan than God. Pick one Good aspect of the Bible and the right does none of those things.
religious right has more in common with Satan than God
I disagree, Satan seems like a pretty reasonable dude from what I can tell. If anything, Old Testament God and conservatives line up fairly well.
Jesus on the other hand was a hardcore leftist.
The teachings of Jesus, the moral example of Jesus, is totally irrelevant. You can’t get into heaven by emulating Jesus. You can’t get everlasting life by treating people with compassion and respect. Those sermons and shit, that was just a hobby that Jesus engaged in that has no bearing on his purpose on Earth or what a Christian needs to do to be a Christian. The only way you can get into Heaven and see your mommy again is by unquestioningly accepting the dogma of Christianity, which is completely amoral by any humanist standard.
Holy Trinity my dude. Jesus is also his father and the ghost thing… Idk I never paid attention during church
God’s a petty asshole throughout much of the Bible. I’d say they have a lot in common with him.
True that’s why I said good things in the Bible.
Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven for rebelling against God, which he did because he was jealous of humanity.
Or so the Paradise Lost goes. None of that shit is in the Bible.
was such a weird experience as a kid having a catholic preiest try explaining that, the devil rebelled because he was jealous of our free will. and lacking the language to engage that. “buddy the moral of your story is a big red flag for me when considering my accociation with this room full of people” was not a collection of words and concepts i had available to me as a small child. a desire for autonomy i got pretty easy though.
Ya essentially a Don’t tread on me shirt.
From what I remember, they don’t actually believe in Satan. But under American law you can’t be recognized as a religion without claiming a deity or god
That second part is not accurate at all. There is no requirement for worship of any deity to have the full protection of the first amendment, nor is there a requirement for a deity to be eligible for tax exempt status.
There are multiple religions that are protected under the constitution that worship is not a part of the religion at all.
Ey, good to hear that that has improved!
New religion just dropped: every member is their own god
Isn’t this like 90% of their thing?
Some Christians groups have ideals that violate some of the things they consider their rights and such. They’re fighting for their rights. Bonus: with the protections imposed on religions in the usa, they can offer more freedom to people already living in the country of alleged freedom
Awesome, fighting the good fight.
Hail Satan, or not, I’m not your boss.
Begun, the New Crusades have.
TST sucks ass though. Their leadership is all abusive right wing hierarchical assholes and all they actually do is profit off of an image that they fight for abortion rights and such, when in reality they’ve never won a court case and have been time and time again completely incompetent in their litigations. Theres a huge community of grassroots actually leftist satanists and after being deprogrammed from TST they all try to come out about the abuses they suffered at the hands of TST leadership only to be sued into silence. There’s a ton of info about this, but a good place to start for those curious is the group Queer Satanic.
TST sucks ass though.
It is QUITE A BIT more nuanced than that…
This is their co-founder, and spokesperson? wtf

News story #3 is actually kind of crazy to me. The only possible explanation for someone filling that lawsuit is if they don’t believe in their own tenets. The suit has no grounds and is meant to suppress criticism.
It pretty clearly is a direct contradiction with tenet 4 (respecting freedoms of others, especially the freedom to offend) I might expect hypocrisy like this from other religious groups, but for TST, the tenets are a fundamental part of their movement.
A link to a local St. Louis, Missouri paper with an excellent report validating your abortion claims. They interview one of the pregnant women who was told they would help her, but basically it ended with a lot of publicity for them and nothing for her.
The Satanic Temple Sought to Upend Missouri Abortion Law. Their Plans Went to Hell
I don’t want fun.
