Summary

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is reportedly planning to end two Biden-era immigration programs, potentially making hundreds of thousands of migrants who entered the U.S. legally eligible for deportation.

These programs—CBP One and the CHNV parole program—allowed over 1.3 million migrants from countries like Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter the U.S. legally.

Trump’s initial deportation focus is expected to include individuals deemed national security risks, such as Chinese nationals of military age, as well as those with criminal convictions.

Legal challenges are anticipated, similar to those seen during Trump’s first term.

I agree, we should deport anyone who wasn’t already here by 1350. Make America native again.

It’s amazing that Latinos voted for this and they’re about to get to the find out part so very soon.

Also going to be so amusing in racist America finding out just like Arizona and Georgia did and promptly forgot.

Seriously going to enjoy the schadenfreude and will actually get to sit my minority ass down outside a field and watch white Americans struggle to do the jobs they said they actually want, which they didn’t and couldn’t handle it the first go around.

Trump’s cornerstone campaign promise… Millions of you let him win by not voting or voting third party. Don’t blame Trump for this. For once he wasn’t lying. Ooh and he has Congress to back him up, too! Checks and balances? Nope.
You can fight back by yelling on the internet or maybe a little protest march (until that’s disallowed). But for fuck’s sake don’t vote until the electoral college is gone and Gaza is free and you have the perfect candidate!

Weren’t many folks they’re referring to also granted legal immigration status under Trump’s term, too?

A lot of people don’t seem to understand that 2024 Trump is not 2016 Trump. In 2016 a lot of Republicans and cabinet members opposed him. Now Trump has the Republicans fully under his control, willing to do whatever he wants.

He can’t [legally] deport US citizens either, but he has promised to do so. Who’s going to stop him? Congress? The courts? Republicans will control both.

The citizens. It’s up to us to say when enough is enough. We give him power, and when we don’t listen, then he loses power. Only a little above 50% is claiming to be in his court rn, and that can shift any second. Plus it’s an American circumstance to take and keep immigrants regardless of what politicians say the state of the border is. It’s all a farce and the US has never stopped taking immigrants

The same citizens who couldn’t take few hours out of their day to stop this transfer of power in the first place, via a system specifically meant for it?

The system itself is working exactly as it’s supposed to and that’s the problem. It didn’t matter about those people that you are referring to not voting. They stopped the count when Trump got the electoral votes. Meaning the popular vote wouldn’t have made a difference

No. The electoral college did. They stopped counting the popular vote when he got enough electoral votes

They announced him as the winner before they even finished counting the popular vote. It’s not stupid shit at all. Look back at the 2016 election. Trump won the electoral votes there as well, while Hillary won the popular vote. And Hillary did not get the presidency.

Yeah, because they knew how many electoral votes each candidate got, it’s how that system works. That doesn’t mean they just stop counting the popular vote

Look back at the 2016 election. Trump won the electoral votes there as well, while Hillary won the popular vote. And Hillary did not get the presidency.

Do they stop counting when a winner is announced or not, you’re inconsistent here

Lmao okay then head your ass down to the border and open it why don’t you. If it’s so simple. “We the people” should be doing it so go on, you start since you’re so sure we can stop the deportations.

He cannot unless they’re convicted criminals.

Until the Republican swept house, senate and SCOTUS just unilaterally decide to change the law and allow deporting any “enemies of the state”. Who’s going to object lol?

Nothing in American law statue is concrete now that they hold every single key.
