Video posts don’t typically do super well on Lemmy but this one deserves attention. Just watch it. You’ll understand why.

Sidenote but the body double of Kirk is the same guy who is the voice over artist for Maul and Palpatine in the animated Star Wars stuff. Sam Witwer. Also known as Starkiller. You can really recognize him in a couple of the facial expressions during this video.

    The dude in the

    spoiler

early-TNG uniform is Yor, who briefly appeared in Discovery and was established to have travelled between the Prime and Kelvin universes.

Apologies if i’m stating the obvious

Yep! I recognized the bastard the second I saw him and was shocked that they brought him in for this moment. However, from a representation perspective of crossing from one universe into another, it’s an extremely beautiful way to do it.

I love how official this is. Shatner in it, and produced it. Relevant family members also on the production team. Excellent effects, perfect mood and music, not one line of dialogue needed.

This needs to be added to every new release of Generations going forward.

Thank you for sharing it bud!

I don’t think that’s actually Shatner. It’s definitely not actually Nimoy. Or at least the video of their heads are taken from elsewhere and highly manipulated.

It is Shatner. He’s credited as Kirk, along with the body double. He definitely has tons of cgi make up on, but it’s him.

    Wow … thanks for this

I basically grew up in a world were Kirk and Spock were a normal part of the background of our lives … seeing Shatner and Nimoy was just part of growing up.

This really made me feel sad, nostalgic, happy, bitter and overjoyed … thanks to these people, my life was a bit more fun and happy and it still us through communities like this.

I saw no fucking whatsoever in that video. I am highly disappointed.

But I also greatly enjoyed it, so thank you for sharing.

I cried in the theater when Kirk died at the end of Generations. I was 12 years old and sitting next to my dad who, looking back on it, was definitely emotional too.

I haven’t had a chance to watch. Need to prepare myself for it in a safe space, me thinks.

anyone who enjoys trek. do this.

was just interrupted by my kids and spouse 10 times(once in the bathroom) while trying to have a moment with this.

didn’t even finish it because I’m disgusted.

I’ll watch it later when I’m not so pissed.
