The Police Department has released two new images of the man it believes fatally shot the chief executive of UnitedHealthcare, including one showing him in the back seat of a taxi on the day of the shooting.

The images were released late Saturday night as the frantic investigation continued to identify and track down the killer of Brian Thompson, 50, the health care executive gunned down outside the New York Hilton Midtown hotel in Manhattan on Wednesday.

One image, captured from the front of the cab, appears to show the unidentified suspect peering forward from the vehicle’s back seat with his face partially obscured by a blue surgical mask, a dark hat and a black hood. The other image, apparently recorded through a window, shows the man walking on the street wearing the same mask, a black puffer jacket and a hood pulled over his head.

      Ok, thank you!

I’ve been wondering if I’m the crazy one… the picture that is supposed to be the guy at the hostel… his jacket has breast pockets. The jacket on the guy in the picture from the actual scene of the shooting does not appear to have those pockets. But I don’t really see anyone mentioning that very often.

Sure… but I think one can go a little harder in the paint than changing your dark gray jacket with breast pockets for a somewhat darker gray jacket with no breast pockets if that is the goal.

Especially in light of his arrest at this point.

It’s funny how medical books cover the eyes to disguise the person and on this one they have eyes but no identity.

I actually just realized that the covering of the eyes is probably more effective for people who aren’t autistic. It’s always seemed insane to me that people can’t recognize someone if only their eyes are covered,!but I do look at peoples eyes a whole lot less than others do.

It’s not just you. Masks also break facial recognition software. Covering the eyes actually is kind of useless

I’m terrible with faces and introduce myself to the same people repeatedly. They could have their entire face uncovered and their name tattooed across their forehead and i probably still wouldn’t recognize them.
