Hello,
Why not join [email protected] ?
2600 monthly active users, and encompasses all TV shows rather than just Netflix
Edit: also, you might want to have a look at the impact of your post about Photon on the Photon dev: https://sopuli.xyz/post/20103052/13493250
Because sometimes a more specific community is better for certain things than a broad sweeping community.
Indeed, but then should we have a community for Amazon Prime, Max, Peacock, etc. ?
There is a balance between too generic communities and overspecialized communities. The activity on [email protected] seems to indicate that having one community is enough
I agree. We first need to get the broader communities with activity before they can branch out. If things are too spread out, it will limit growth
Thank you for your comment. [email protected] hasn’t been active for almost a month, I’ll probably post something there tomorrow to redirect to [email protected]
Why not have all of those?
Because the current Lemmy userbase can only sustain a certain level of community specialization.
People are not going to subscribe to 5 different communities to talk about TV shows.
Cooking communities consolidated a while ago
Until such time that Lemmy’s user growth is at a point that it can support some of the smaller, niche cooking communities, these communities will be locked.
there is also [email protected]. :)
How do you even KNOW about that??? It has no mods, no posts, no users in the last year.
Maybe because I created it?!
@[email protected], any reason to remove the post to the [email protected] Best of 2024 post?

As said on the other comment, that community has 2600 monthly active users, and encompasses all TV shows rather than just Netflix
