Summary

Senator Lindsey Graham rejected Donald Trump’s call to imprison officials who investigated the January 6 Capitol attack, stating on NBC’s Meet the Press that such individuals “should not go to jail.”

This marks a rare public disagreement between Graham, typically a Trump ally, and the former president. Trump had recently stated that investigators, including former January 6 committee leaders Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney, “should go to jail.”

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders denounced Trump’s comments as authoritarian and suggested Joe Biden consider pre-emptive pardons for investigators.

Over 1,250 people have been convicted for their roles in the Capitol attack.

One of the problems with “the ends justify the means” is that morons like Susan Collins underestimate how bad the means were. “We can control him” won’t do Jack shit when he starts imprisoning people for publicly disagreeing with him like this

LOL, I wonder how long Lindsey’s spine will hold up on that.

It’s not a pardon because they actually did anything illegal, just a preemptive measure to cut off Patels attempts.

Though, I’ve not really seen anyone even consider this but I’m not sure that they’ll even bother respecting the pardons. I absolutely believe they’ll still just go after hunter/ anyone else pardoned and nobody will stop them.

Well, it’s a good thing that Graham is known for never backtracking when he contradicts Trump.
