I just saw another one of these a few days ago. Some YouTuber trying to say the same thing relative to cave drawings of guys with wings. Nevernind the fact that anyone who ever saw a bird has dreamed about flying.

My God, it’s like all those statues started out as columns and it was easier to carve the arms like that instead of sticking them out!

Judging by my posture in a recent group photo, I (and more than half my friends) appear to be part of a world-wide ancient aliens conspiracy. Who knew!

Hot take: hands are universally hard to render.

Not to mention these are being carved from a single piece of stone. So making them appear as if they’re hanging down along their sides/sticking out from their bodies would require a lot more work. The simplest explanations are always the most likely.

        Exactly!

It makes me wonder how drab people’s childhoods were that they never tried to make figures out of whatever and realize that arms and hands are hard as hell. And carving? Does nobody let kids carve things?

My parents didn’t let me carve stones, no. I think that’s mostly because I didn’t yearn for the mines like most children.

Wow it’s really nuts, I’m starting to think all these statues might have involved people!?! I’m guessing the ancient aliens had a conspiracy around using humans as models for their primitive stone statues, that’s the real take away here.
