Efforts to prevent a partial government shutdown from starting this weekend fell apart Wednesday when numerous Republicans, on and off Capitol Hill, expressed their frustration with the many extraneous provisions added to a short-term funding package.

Like so many things with Trump, this is a test of loyalty. He makes outlandish requests that rile up his base, and sees who’ll fold. Sean Spicer with crowd sizes, RFK with McDonalds on the plane Photoshoot. And now this with House republicans.

The problem is these dumbfucks haven’t yet figured out that they don’t gain anything by being loyal to Trump. He’ll toss them out sooner or later anyway.

Hopefully Musk will crash in one of his cars and be unable to escape the resulting fire, because he built it without mechanical door handles.

I prefer that evil billionaires meet their fates ironically.

Unfortunately this falls flat if the person driving knows about the door releases which do exist. They’re a little latch that you pull just behind the window controls. So musk’s passengers would all die, but he’d be fine

A certain recent story regarding CEOs shows you don’t have to wait for random chance.

I mean, sure. There’s always the Luigi option. But my preferred end for insurance execs is from denial of a health insurance claim. Bit hard to make that work for someone of that wealth, but it would be the ideal case.

Sure, but you have to do some insane shit like pull open some random unmarked panel, dig your hand in, and pull a cable. Good luck remembering how to do that when the car is filled with smoke and there is literally a fire being lit under your ass. Tesla fires have killed hundreds already.

Yes, but that doesn’t mean you can make blatantly false statements.

You can just say they’re buried and non-intuitive.

          Be better.

You’re literally “ummm actually”-ing human immolation.

A mechanical release that is obfuscated and not easy and intuitive to use effectively doesn’t exist. You might as well say, “well, technically, shattering a window is a mechanical action, so all cars have mechanical releases…”

            Stop trying to excuse homicide.

I’m expecting Trump to twist this, claim a voluntary recess, and slam through the rest of his preferences.

Assuming I’m not behind and he hasn’t gotten them all through already.

He’s not actually president yet, but it seems everybody has just decided to pretend he is. Biden still has the power to call a drone strike and take out Trump with absolutely no legal repercussions for another month, as per the Supreme Court.

Wouldn’t it be funny if the government shut down so completely that congress couldn’t actually convene to certify the election? That would be fun turnabout.

Glad somebody is. They push this junk through at the last minute to make sure nobody can read it all before the vote. This was supposed to be done months ago. They could still pass a CR bill and push it out until January but that wouldn’t include all their pork in it including pay raises for themselves and exempting themselves from Obama care so sadly, it’s all or nothing.
