Summary

Donald Trump criticized New York Judge Juan Merchan after the judge set a Jan. 10 sentencing date for Trump’s 34-count felony conviction related to hush money payments.

Trump called for Merchan’s disbarment, accusing him of political bias and corruption, and claimed the case was fabricated by the “Biden/Harris Injustice Department.”

Merchan indicated he may propose no punishment due to presidential immunity.

Trump vowed to appeal the case, citing past legal victories, and reiterated claims of political persecution and judicial bias while condemning the U.S. legal system’s handling of his cases.

It’s incredible that this guy has signaled that he’s not going to punish Trump at all - no fine, no jail time, not even a slap on the wrist. AND STILL Trump is railing on the guy. Is he really that stupid to tempt fate?

Trump is stupid, but not about this. We’ve proven to him over and over there’s no accountability for anything he does. He’s a convicted felon and about to be president again.

You know what I get a kick out of?

At this point, what if Trump doesn’t bother showing up for this hearing? What if he just literally tells this judge to go fuck himself? Trump is committing a federal crime on social media by threatening a judge. What can anyone do about it? What is this judge, who has already repeatedly bent over backwards to accommodate Trump before he returned to power, going to do about a defendant who is legally immune from prosecution?

Right now, Trump absolutely could completely ignore this case, say he won’t be attending on January 10th, and telling the judge to go fuck himself on social media. And there is absolutely fuck-all that anyone can do about it. All Merchan is doing is giving Trump another opportunity to show the world what a cuck Merchan is.

OMG this whole thing was a big fucking nothingberder in the first place, because the judge said he wasn’t going to sentence him to any fucking jail time anyway. And still this manbaby is stampyfooting around about it. Ignore.

He’s corrupt, and the system is corrupt. Pay attention, all those who are suffering. The King of America is soon to be crowned.

He was born with ten silver spoons in his mouth. He was given hundreds of millions of dollars by his parents.

He thinks a million dollars is a “small loan”, so he decided to spread the lie that this is all he got… There’s a song about this.

Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and Tim Cook (Apple) just kowtowed and literally paid homage to this new king.

Help us Mario, you’re our only hope.

Lol. I guess political interference in the judicial system is ok in America now. Or does it only count if hes currently in office? Glad the electorate asked for this bullshit.

/s for the individuals easily triggered, yet still upset at the results of the election because YOU SAT IT OUT IN PROTEST

Trump vs the bar would be an interesting fight to watch. He’d be up against a lot of entrenched power and money that wouldn’t want to cede an inch.

I don’t know if this is an institution that could tell him to fuck off but it’s a deeply entrenched one.

Why wouldn’t they be able to tell him to fuck off? Trump has no authority whatsoever over the New York State Bar. They can and will simply ignore his tantrum.

Officially, yes. But he has tons of lunatic followers both in and out of government. I’m sure he could find a way to ratfuck his political enemies somehow. If he can’t find a way to have his DOJ “investigate” and harass them constantly over frivolous shit, there’s always a chance one of his nutball supporters could blow up a Tesla in front of a courthouse or something…

But also: Conviction aside, didn’t we just read that he escaped any and all actual punishment for this anyway? We were told he would not face jail nor fines? So, it’s just a bunch of meaningless hot air anyway. He has nothing to be mad about other than, as usual, being insane.

The horrifying thing is it’s not certain that’s what they would do. The guy never saw any consequences after his trial(s).

The bar doesn’t have a military, the DoJ, or a distressing quantity of far-right militias behind them. I anticipate things like this being taken in an extralegal direction. The lawyering profession as a whole, imo, will eventually bend the knee en masse. There will be holdouts, but they’ll be at best harassed and driven to the fringes of their own profession.

Merchan just gave him a free pass, signaling he will not impose any punishment. But Trump’s threats have worked so far to make him always cede more ground, so not surprising that he isn’t stopping even when he’s already thwarted justice.
