Summary

The Washington Post editorial board announced support for nearly all of Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees, except four: Pete Hegseth, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and Russell Vought.

The board justified its decisions by prioritizing minimal disqualifying factors over strong qualifications.

Some nominees, including Pam Bondi and Chris Wright, were approved despite controversies, such as ties to Trump’s 2020 election denial and climate change skepticism.

Critics argue the endorsements reflect loyalty over merit, raising concerns about the nominees’ qualifications and the paper’s objectivity under Jeff Bezos’s ownership.

Bezos, a rich white billionaire who owns WP, donated money to Trump, also a rich white billionaire.

Now WP supports Trump. What a coincidence.

So happy I cancelled my subscription last year. The once venerable paper we loved is gone.

Is it insane to protect yourself from potentially the most powerful dictator to exist? The fact I’m saying this about trump makes me so mad.

    Edit:

To all you that made this possible and reside here in the states. I never understood you. I never liked you. I never wanted to be around you. I hope you’re miserable.

I’ll admit they suckered me with a really good deal when Ann Telnaes left. But this is showing that she was 100% right. It’s time to cancel WaPo folks. It’s no better than the US Chamber of Commerce’s* press releases.

Note - Not actually a government agency, they’re a business lobby that cosplays a government agency.

Propaganda machine owned by a billionaire supports an incoming fascist regime? Aw man, too bad this has never happened before and we have no history to learn from about this.

    Really cool they…

prioritized minimal disqualifying factors over strong qualifications.

So, there’s nothing great about them, and they are just above the bar on “disqualifying” as they see it.

Who cares? Not sure they have an audience anymore… alienated both sides and their own staff, tons of major departures. These opinions are embarrassing, desperate attempts to sound relevant again.
