Summary
An AP-NORC poll reveals skepticism about Donald Trump’s ability to lower costs like groceries, housing, or healthcare in his first year, with only 2 in 10 Americans expressing strong confidence. Confidence is slightly higher for job creation (3 in 10).
Even among Republicans, less than half are very confident in his ability to address healthcare or food costs.
Health care remains a weak spot, with only 16% of Americans confident he can lower costs.
So why did they vote for him…
Oh right, they hate women, trans people, and immigrants…
Yeah uh deflation is actually considered very bad, not sure where people are getting this expectation from.
Wealth redistribution is good.
But nothing will meaningfully improve until the rich fear for their lives
Anyone who thinks he’ll do it at all is delusional; he’s gotten $200 million in bribes to increase corporate profits, not lower them.
And here I am, KNOWING he won’t lower prices, BECAUSE HE FUCKING SAID HE WASN’T GOING TO, AS SOON AS THE VOTES WERE IN!?¡
Spoiler alert: He won’t do anything except enrich himself and his toadies.
Many Americans doubt Trump. End of statement.
And yet millions voted for him claiming it was because he would fix the economy. 🤔
To be fair, that reason is only what they claimed.
Oh I know. Plenty of them it was more about not voting for that n-- bitch. But they knew they could call her that out loud, so they did it in their head and claimed it was about the economy.
Please denote when you’re quoting someone else with quotes. Unless you want to have said “n-- bitch”
If someone really wants to think that was what I was saying and couldn’t figure it out from the context, I honestly do not care.
If anything, he’ll print more money than is already the case and fuel inflation.
He fixed healthcare in his first term remember? That was when Elon landed humans on Mars.
My favorite was capping off a huge infrastructure week with getting Mexico to pay for the wall.
Truly the day he made America great.
He fixed concepts of healthcare. Right after infrastructure week.
Too bad they didn’t think about it before voting.
Edit: I’d like to add that I will bet groceries for a month that they don’t go down at any point in his term.
MAGA Voters: “Derp derp, he said he do thing, yup yup, we believe, yup yup, dat mean he gon do it, yup. Them eggs and them beers are gunna be incredibly affordable anyday now, yup yup”
I’m stocking up on some of my hobby supplies specifically because I think he’ll raise prices, like he’s literally said he would multiple times.
At this point I’m just hoping he doesn’t plunge us into The Great Depression 2: Electric Breadaloo
So great we stuck it to bLuEMaGa on that one single issue amiright single issue voters?
Lol, I don’t see how this won’t be significantly worse than that. In fact, when the economy is down, that’s when it’s the easiest for the richest people to enrich themselves further, buying companies, properties, and things when people are forced to sell for bottom dollar. And all those people are little baby birds chirping at big daddy trump to destroy the economy, so they can buy up everything, thinking they can recover the economy and eat astronomical profits.
That’s the plan anyway.
Ya know your comment reminded me that the great depression is what led to the New Deal which brought the most significant worker reforms and regulations in US history.
So maybe a Great Depression 2 would suck, but after we might get New Deal 2: Electric Healthcarealo so…there’s that
That’s very optimistic lol
ok, but he totally fixed the whole palestine situation /s
Literally had someone try to tell me this the other day when the ceasefire news came out… That didn’t last.
I mean, glassing Palestine is a solution. One might even say a final solution.
Well, at least it’ll make the land less enticing to Israel?
I was more making fun of the articles about trump being responsible for the cease fire talked about yesterday that is falling apart today.
It takes a little while for mismanagement to negatively affect the economy and the recession to take hold. Patience. He’ll get there.
