If Reddit taught me anything. Humans are fucking disgusting. Like WAY more than you can typically imagine. Yeah, there are people who don’t shower.

I had a roommate who didn’t shower. Lovely person, still a good friend, but… eek.

The rare instance I can tolerate a bar soap (they typically make me feel to sticky, for lack of a better word), I go bare handed. Shower gel goes on the scrubby poof.

Use a loofah with any type of soap. It will change your life.

Loofah with soap on it, I’m not a heathen! Haha. Everytime I shower without the loofah you just don’t feel properly clean, not into it.

I put shower gel on a loofah and was myself with it.

I never understood using soap to shower, they usually dry the skin too much.

It’s good to be yourself. I hope one day you can be yourself with everyone else as well. 😜

From my Spaniard point of view, there’s three things that I find fascinatingly weird about Americans: Guns, boys’ circumcision and shower loofahs. Why do you need a loofah to wash your body? Do you use a loofah too when you wash your hands?

Loofahs are quite popular here in Hungary as well, as far as I can tell. It’s better at removing dead skin cells than using shower gel alone.

Loofahs are not as common as you imply. Like, they’re available, and some people use them. But I think it’s more likely someone uses a washcloth or just their hands.

As for why? I’m generally a “use my hands” man. But I do use a wash cloth if I’m particularly dirty for some reason. It gives a bit of exfoliating action that scrapes off more grime than just my hands.

Welsh, not American, but I find that the loofah type puffy things get me much cleaner than when I just use my hands. They let me scrub properly, rather than just rubbing soap onto my skin.

No because I usually don’t stick my hands in my ass when I wash my hands. You Spaniards just out there raw assing it?

So it’s better to stick your loofah in you ass and then put it all over your body?

You can wash your ass with your hands and wash your hands right there in the shower if you think they are so dirty, which they won’t be because they are full of soap and water is running over them

I just use bar of soap barehanded. My girlfriend puts liquid soap onto a small hand towel and uses that.

I don’t see a need to do anything more than what I do. I smell good and am clean.

I use homemade coffee soap barehanded as it is really abrasive. Gels get a loofah.

Loofahs and skin scrub pads. If I’m traveling and don’t have a loofah, I’ll lather up a washcloth with soap and use that!

I have a “soap bag” on a rope. Loofa type satchel with a flap, made to hold a bar of soap.

Some are better made than others.

Bar soap rubbed onto a washcloth to make a nice lather. Washcloth has the advantage that I can clean my upper back with it by holding the corners and doing a flossing type motion.

Anyone use one of those silicone body scrubbers instead of a luffa? Coincidentally I ordered one based on an IG ad…yup, they got me. But they seem to get great reviews.
