Kansas is mainly wheat country. But yes there was one remarkably huge tree between my hometown and Wichita. Legend has it that it was a landmark during the westward expansion back in the olden days because it was the only big tree on the way to the Rockies.
I heard an interpretation that makes sense: He flies fast enough to reverse time, which reverses the spinning of the earth. It’s backwards from the way people make fun of it.
Right, this. Though he’s not reversing time for everyone, he’s just going back in time personally to fix the problem (so, reversing time for himself).
In other words, the worlds rotation doesn’t change… it’s just the world appears to be going backwards relative to superman… (of course relative to superman it should just be a solid blur). So… apparently the cameraman floating out in space distant enough to capture superman and the earth in frame, is also able to travel back in time, without rotating around the world.
He’s flying so fast in the Earth’s gravity (hence needing to go around it) that he is the one going BACK in time so he will be able to stop both missiles. That’s the warning he got in the clouds, using time travel to manipulate events. The question then is, why didn’t he just use that speed to catch both missiles in the first place, but rationalizing things like superheroes ruins them.
Well, today just started and it’s already weird. I was reading some right-wing bullshit that basically boiled down to, “Elon didn’t do a Nazi salute because there’s no reasonable purpose for him to have done one.” Now I read this, talking about how it’s silly to rationalize superheroes. And both tie into the quote from Mark Twain the first topic made me think of, “Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.”
Well…actually, with all the time paradoxes The Flash gets into, that sort of makes sense. You know, within DC logic.

So many worlds vs singular timeline is still the question. With relativity suggesting many worlds, and the twin paradox, suggesting a convergent timeline.
…both can’t be true, so it’s more likely you can’t go faster than light and have mass. You would probably just get so fat you blot out and reset the universe. Which is why it’s probably important we never try going at the speed of light…
Not that it matters, because destroying the universe would be the SUCCESSFUL outcome. Spaghettification of the equipment/personnel would be the fail state.
One possible outcome of the comic would be a spray of chains of atoms and subatomic particles that used to be Superman, spewing forth at near light speed as it cuts through building, people, and landmass topology (mountain and stuff). A super sonic laser of what used to be Suoerman.
…and that’s the fail state. The success would be Superman replaces everything everywhere… Possibly then condensing backdown to a pinpoint explosion of pure energy on deceleration.
