It feels like he took the high road here reading the entire comments. It was a scummy thing for Payton to say.

I feel like Payton also did it to take the heat off Russell Wilson so he can filter out the noise and not be talked about as much.

It’s not like the whole NFL world doesn’t know Hackett did a terrible job, so Payton didn’t expose him. He just made himself look like an ass saying stuff people already knew.

As a lifelong Bucs fan, I might be lightly biased, but Payton should be careful as well. How many years can you go 7-9 in a row with a 1st ballot HoF quarterback and not be part of the problem?

I’m surprised they’ve never met. It’s such a small group of people you’d think they’d run into each other at work events.

Sigh. Can we just ban Payton from the league already?

He might deserve a punishment, but that’s a bit extreme

This wouldn’t be his first infraction as a coach though. Remember when he was with the Saints and was running that “bounty” scheme? Bad optics for a head coach. He deserved the suspension.

Remember when he shittalked the prior coach of the Broncos, and walked it back after?

He’s a colorful guy who might win games, but he’s undeserved of a head coach spot, IMO. There’s playing the edge, and then there’s Payton. Better he’s out.

I see we’re still not close enough to the season to have actual news. Wake me when the manufactured drama is over and the football starts.
