Summary

Democrats are ramping up opposition to Trump and Musk’s brazen assault on the federal government, which critics see as a constitutional crisis.

Protests erupted after Musk’s DOGE accessed taxpayer data, prompting Democratic lawmakers to pledge stronger resistance.

Senate Democrats staged an all-night protest against budget chief Russell Vought, while some senators vowed to block Trump’s nominees. Hakeem Jeffries introduced legislation to curb DOGE, as activists push for McConnell-style obstruction.

Nationwide protests and lawsuits signal a revived anti-Trump resistance.

Growing grassroots engagement and local officials taking steps to counter Trump’s agenda reflect intensifying opposition.

Maybe this is lost in translation, but as a Canadian, the second biggest party in power IS the opposition … And you guys only have 2 parties?

    So like… What?

They’re not doing something. They’ve just decided that something should be done somehow someday.

We’re going to be the opposition

Love the future tense here. If you already WERE the opposition, we wouldn’t be in this fucking mess. Also, democrats say they’re “going to” do a lot of shit they never had any intention of ever doing and just make up some goddamned excuse.

Until they actually do something, they’re enthusiastically complicit.

No hurry. Rome is just burning. Take your time. Don’t forget to consider how your actions will impact your investments first, however. That’s what’s most important after all. We want you guys to be completely comfortable. No worries, we’ll take the bullets while you figure things out and come up with a plan of action.

Democrats promote by seniority, because they’re the fundraisers. Meaning, those are the easiest politicians to buy

C.O.D.E. (Civilians of Democracy and Ethics) is the counter action to DOGE. We cannot let this stand. Spread the word. Protest. Call lawmakers.

But what about the rules and decorum?

Someone has to add an air of legitimacy to the Cryptofascist takeover of America, who better than the same enlightened centrists that ushered it in?

I bet they will be as good at being “the opposition” as they were at defending Roe v Wade, or being “the resistance.”

These people had like 50 years to codify it, and did not. They knew all along what the strategy was and they did nothing. They did nothing when Clinton reduced benefits and did his whole thing.
